Default Lipo batteries show charge, but nothing happens.

I decided to finish up plane that I started a few years back, and when I plugged in one of my lipo batteries, nothing. My enter shows that it has a charge, according to the article I just read in the June issue of MODEL AVIATION, the author mentions that they have to be discharged and recharged to come back to usefulness. Or did I read it wrong. Thanks for the help. The meter I have, I purchased from Heads up Hobbies, and it shows the charge as well the level for each cell.

Information ?

What size battery in mAh .... C rate ..... Cells (voltage) ....

What is meter showing ? Volts / Charge %

LiPo's generally do not revive if left too long in very low discharged or too high charged state ... its literally a death sentence to them. Some peopl report revived LiPo's - but you never hear later how they only had a short life before failing again.

Give us info and we can answer ...........

So what does your meter say when you hook the battery up to it? Not just total voltage, but the voltage for each cell?

What are the specs of your setup in the plane? Motor, ESC, etc.? If the battery has a charge and you are getting nothing from the plane, there may be something wrong with the setup. Does the ESC have a built-in BEC, or is it an Opto type that would require a separate UBEC to supply power to the receiver?

Have you tried another battery?
Lower cell count is no problem, I just want to make sure the wiring/electronics/setup is still ok.

Well, folks, I finally figured things out. Unfortunately, I asked a question without sitting back and keep trying. After I plugged everything on to the receiver things started working again. I apologize if I have caused any inconvenience. But it's been several years, a job change, still working in EMS, and other interests. But thanks for all the replies.
