Park Zone T-28 Question
Just got a T-28 and it is a great flyer. However, initially, when testing the motor on the ground, it would sputter, and barely turn the prop shaft for a few seconds then would engage and work normally. I chalked this up to being a new motor and took off since it seemed to be working fine. Then after a few minutes of flight after going to zero throttle to test dead stick characteristics, it sputtered again and wouldn't run normally, causing a premature, rough landing. No damage and up again, this time, the motor stopped turning and was accompanied by a loud screeching sound that was audible on the ground. Motor then worked again. I am relatively new at electric flight and don't know if this is an esc, motor, or battery issue. Any advice would be great. I am aware of some of the t-28 esc issues, but am looking for some guidance. Thanks in advance.

thats exactly what my first one did...the exact same thing..flew it for a few minutes then the motor went nuts and screeched and stopped... take it back and get another one..they will make it good,if not the lhs,the manuf..

If the supplied ESC is the 25 amp pro, they are kind of notorious for problems. As far as programming, you might be able to download instructions off Horizon or E-flite website. I understand the newer Trojans are shipped with a new 30 amp ESC, even thought it still says 25 amp on the box. I haven't heard of any problems with the 30 amp version yet, I believe it's E-flites remedy for the sub-par 25 amp. Hope ya get it worked out, you've got a great plane once that issue is sorted out.
