Finally took this jet up for its maiden today. Put it together 4 years ago and it sat around till I could find time.
It had been modified with the RC Lander 2200kv 10 blade and bumped up to 6S. It took most of the runway because of the added weight. When it finally launched, I realized the ailerons had way too much throw and it was a bear to keep on a track. I rocked back to half throttle just after takeoff. After a few minutes of trying to get accustomed, I elected to bring it back in before things went awry. Didn't have enough lipo to go back up but I'll get some ground work ironed out before the next flight.
I always thought it would be nice to have retracts to clean it up but it didn't seem to care. I would bank it was doing 100mph at half throttle. I never got to do a full speed pass but this thing is a beast.
After mods, it weighed in at 3.14lbs and had a static thrust of 4.51lbs. Been years since I'd flown and this was no joke to break myself back in with.
