Majestic Major electric build.
Attachment 176193Started building the M.M this week from a Ben Buckle kit.
Started with the fuselage side frames.
After reentering the hobby last year its great to experience the smell of balsa and glue again.
I am looking forward to fly this one when it is finished as it reminds me of the free flight aircraft and the early rudder only r.c models from my youth and the first steps in this great hobby when I was 12 years old in Amsterdam joining a club called Icarus.

Both fuselage frames ready to connect to the main bulk heads.
Constructing the frames with the help of my new disc sander is a treat!
August 2014.
Busy with finding out were to put the 5000 ma lipo (as much forward as possible!)
The idea is to load the lipo from the front at the bottom of the fuselage.
Made a batt. Compartment and engine bulkhead/ fire wall , looks like I am making progress as everything seems to fit now.
Work in progress trying to bend and bend......and bend to get the U/C fitted.
But....I managed.
Those big wheels are impressive and already the old timer feeling is complete.
To be continued.
December 13-2014, finished the fuselage and stabilizer including the vertical fin.
Took me the good part of a week to design and build up the engine cowling and battery hatch.
Both came out very well and are hold in place by 2 strong little magnets, works fine.
Started on the first wing half this week and making good progress.

After 48 years in real aviation its a pleasure to create again and to have plenty of time to do it!

Thanks for the link to your thread but to be honest I have been reading it a few times already.
As a matter of fact, your thread inspired me to build this one!
I finished the fuse, stabilizer, vert. Fin and the wings this week building from a Ben Bucle kit.
I am going to use the same set up that you used with the axi 2820/10 jeti 40 pro 12/7 xoar wooden prop to start with and a 5000 Mha 4S lipo that a have managed to sqeeze in as much forward as possible.
Covering will be solartex yellow vintage and black in a similar fashion as yours was ( with your kind permission)
Keep you posted on the end result with some pictures.

I am convinced that she will fly like a dream.
I have build her to reconnect with my early days when I was a 10 year old and the older clubmembers were flying models like this with rudder only control.
Now that I am retired I finally found the time to make my dream as a boy come alive and fly one myself!

Thanks for your interest in my last project, you are right it is easy to see in the air although I almost lost site of her last time due to Hazy wheather conditions.
She flies like a dream and is very easy to land.
No need for ailerons here!
I am going to fly her again tomorrow, it is a privelage to be retired and go flying wenever wheather permits.
My club has the best location of Holland, the club is called " Modelvliegclub Wieringenmeer"
Building the M.M is time consuming but very rewarding once finished.
Current project is a semi scale model of the Dornier Merkur, a passenger transport flown by German Lufthansa in 1926.
600 W motor, 3S 4000 mah lipo, span 60 inch.
