Wow Bill G ! your model is
horrible!....
That means as horrible as was the original one.
Seriously, I think Dornier made at that time some of the most horrible seaplanes ever seen. Gs30 was just one more, but Delphin series were
. But, you know, can be interesting models to scratchbuild

Same basic design, still flies today as a turboprop conversion:

The Dornier museum has scale models of these old flying boats, but the version they have of my Gs doesn't have the same bubble shaped canopy. It's the one in the right-center in the linked photo below:

My DORNIER SUPER WAL. The model has 73” wingspan and weights 9.5 Lbs. The model was built using the Dollar Store foam boards and smell amount of balsa and plywood. The model is powered by four motors. Front two are bigger then rear ones. Each pair is powered by 5000mA LiPos. I have no idea what make they are. I bought them at the Toledo show. There is no label on any of them. But the price was right. Each motor is turning the 9-6 APC prop. I am using two 3S-5000mA batteries. One for front motors and other for rear ones. The front one is giving me 38oz of static thrust at 23A. The rear one 16oz of static thrust at 6A. On rear motors I am using separate ‘V’ tail mixer to give me differential control when using rudder. Works great.

Just before Hurricane Sandy rolled in, I had successful static float tests and reasonable taxi tests on my Nakajima A6M2-N "Rufe" floatplane fighter that started life as a GWS Zero.
I'm going to add a tapered extension to the main float, for better scale and to host the water rudder.

Photos taken by Steve Belknap, editor of the SEFSD newsletter. Great photos of the Duck with articulating head for takeoff and splashdown. FPV is really fun with the Capricorn over water; many splash and goes enjoyed. The 1971 Kaos (electric) was recently equiped with floats and is a great aerobatic performer. Thank you Chula Vista for these great events.

Hi Warhead.
I do not know how I missed your build. It is always nice for me to see another scale foamy being built. Love the work on her. That plane flies very well. My Albatross is very similar flyer. It gives a nice scale look in the air. great job. Your flights are also fantastic. Thanks for the link also. I am going to read it all over the next few days.

When I flew it with the snow on the snow had an icy crust and it slid in nice. I did not install the outboard floats cause most of my flying is out of my back yard and it lands nice in the grass too. I am fixing magnets on the outboard floats so I can put them on to fly off water. I am thinking about making a set of floats to be installed with magnets in the folded position too.
