Hey Frank heres a question

You know how like real aircraft(prop like a Pipercub) run at like 2800rpms max and yet they pull a couple hundred pounds, and yet here we have rc models running at 17krpms and we only pull maybe 1 pound as i understand it this is due to torque, so now heres the question

Which one would produce more thrust a geared EPS300C which has a high rpm but not as much torque or a geared 480 which has slow rpms but has alot of torque? I mean which is better alot of rpms or alot of torque, or what if you had both?

Hope that wasnt too confusing... i can never get what im asking across..

I see reflections in that pic. It happens when you take pictures through windows.

Due to the high content of humidity and salt air, I made a plexiglass box (thin and light)for my camera to protect it. I have to clean it alot. Thanks for your suggestion though. Matt

You would be better off getting a waterproof shell for the camera. What camera is it?

They consider stick mounts to be AP, why not a tall building?

It is a Kodak Easy Share CX7300 w/ 3.2 MP. It is a tad on the heavy side and I am about to upgrade. It is a great camera though. I almost lost her a few times. It does take some distance to get r' in the air.

Well about my question above earlier, see you notice like on a rubber band powered plane, when you put several rubber bands and wind it so much where the rubber band is about to bust to pieces and let it go, it has alot of thrust!!!! but not much durability but i guess for a prop to speed up you have to add more torque. i dont know what im sayin..

Im ramblin about this because i plan on pulling off the pinion gear off of a 480 motor which has slo rpms but has good torque and putting that pinio on to a 400 so i can fit in the power requirments limit, so since the 400 will probably have less torque it will have more rpms so im hoping i can cut on the wieght and still have good thrust..

Ahhh one thing i hate about scratch building is fuselages, i can never draw out a Pipercub or a cessna or a beaver type fuselage the middle always looks too fat... but a biplane body like a Swordfish i can draw out no probs, but for me a High wing monopalne will fly fastera and cut into the air better than a biplane... biplane has more drag since it has 2 wings.. i have never made one that flew well

should i change my comments then?

Jake, if you stick a cam on it and fly low and take cool videos, then no, your comments are just fine

Well it did not work lol, these dang things always are a pain in the @$$ to get the CG right, plus it didnt have enough power to fly, so it ended up getting a heel through it now its in like 10 pieces... ive got my BL outrunner on a trimmed down 7x4.7 prop though so ima build my AV plane for this contest with that, no barrel rolls and what not though i need a more powerfull engine for that. im still trying to draw out a fuse, they always get me because im always drawing like a Pipercub kinda fuse and thats copying for the Scratchbuilding COntest

I reallllly dont like doing this but I feel it necessary out of respect to all who work so hard getting their planes and rigs up and making at least the effort of doing AP. Bad work is still good work minus refinement.

However Sco.. 'scuse me.. Matt.. if you are going to fake a photo, please do better next time.

I google earth'ed Daytona (from the title of your images) and found the building... I mean SlowStick you shot your photos from

look at the images I have marked below...

and please, if you are going to post actual AP shots, please post them in the WattFlyer gallery, or one of the countless "Bragging" threads.. or as Aviatordave said, you can even create your own thread showing your gear and shots. They dont need to be in an AV contest thread unless you get compliments from your work and someone says WOW... You got any more from there??

48 posts and banned, I think thats a record. I see Scott changed his pictures in the above posts.

ah well, back to the contest. I'd like to take Eddies $5 challenge and see if I can fly lower than him. I'll have to dig out the SS wings for slower flight.
