Default Techone SU31 Control Surface Movement

Just finished my first 3D plane and am having trouble interpreting the recommended control surface movement. Please interpret these instructions (I will only give the rudder since both aileron and elevator use the same terminology)----"Max servo travel of rudder: 50 degrees left and 50 degrees right (90mm)." To what exactly does the 90mm refer??? 90mm to both left and right for a total movement of 180mm??? 90mm measuring from farthest right to farthest left??? When talking about 50 degrees "servo travel" are they talking about measuring the total movement of the servo from extreme right to extreme left???
I would prefer my first few flights be with scale movements, not 3D. What would you recommend for a good starting point for rudder, elevator, and ailerons? Thanks. Gary

90mm equates to 50 degrees from center. 50 degrees to the left from center and 50 degree to thr right from center.
