Default Eflite Power 60 static thrust?

Guys....I have an Eflite 60, 16x10 APC prop, HXT 80 amp ESC and using A123 cells 6S2P. So....I hooked up the digital fish scale to the tail gear and measured my static thrust. It is only 6.5 lbs. Isnt that low? I was hoping for like 8 lbs or so.

What am I doing wrong???

What's your rpm? Give us that and we can figure out if it's your motor or your measuring equipment.

OK....look like it is spinning around 6000 rpm. Even in the sunlight, the numbers fluxuate up and down a bit. But I believe it is spinning at 6000 rpm.

Just to let you know....what ever the thrust is....it was enough to lift my 9 lb autogyro. I think I may try a few more props to figure out what pulls hard but not to exceed the rated amperage draw. The photo attached was taken befor the conversion.

It is near impossible to find thrust data in any of the calculators for that 16x10 APC E... the only thing near it is a 16x10 CAM folder which comes out, in Badcock, at ~3500g (7.67lb) @ 6000rpm.

Dr Kiwi,
Thanks so much for taking the time in helping me. I am still going to try more props in different pitches. The difference is weight from using a 91 four stroke to using the electric system is only 8 oz. heavier. I could have gone 6S1P and the pack would be light...but would only give me probably 4 min. of flight at best. So...I doubled up with 2P.

Again, thanks so much.
