Is it OK to mix a Rx with a cristal from another brand?

Question Is it OK to mix a Rx with a cristal from another brand?

I know that this is a noob question, but that's what I am.

I have a Futaba 9C on channel 13(72050), and I have a Hitec Electron 6 receiver on a plane.
The problem is that I couldn't get a Hitec dual conversion cristal for that Rx.

Can I use a Futaba dual conversion cristal on channel 13 for the Rx?
I think I can, but I want to be sure, I don't want to end with a 2 piece plane.

Not usually a good idea. Very few exceptions......

My LHS ordered me a Hitec Electron 6 and matching Hitec Dual conversion crystal Just the other day.... Why couldn't you find/order one?

I'm from South America and the cristal was out of stock where I bought the Rx.

I recommend asking if they can order you one....Or find an on-line dealer....

It's not worth risking a plane worth several hundred dollars by not finding the proper crystal that would cost 13 dollars.

Good Luck in your hunt for that Crystal.....

Hi Hitec receivers are very sensitive to receiver Crystals, I know with my hitec micro 05s, nothing but a Hitec crystal will work in it, because they are" center tuned " no other crystal will work right in it, I tried another crystal only because my local hobby shop did not have the hitec crystal, it did not work, hitec receivers are some of the best receivers out there, they have a 1 mile range, are auto shift and auto gain, so they will work in all FM transmitters, stick with the hitec receivers, and you may never have any receiver problems, Take care, Chellie

Strange. I have two Hitec dual conversion crystals on channel 13. I may be able to spare one. Drop me your address and I'll put it in the mail.

Not a problem. What's amazing is that I actually have two crystals on the exact channel you need.

I got them from a guy in Okinawa who was kind enough to donate to me a frequency module for my Optic 6. When asked how I could repay him, he simply said to help out another flyer if I ever have the chance.

Hey Guys, Just make sure that you're talking about channel 13 crystals on the same band. What band is allowed for RC use in Uruguay? Regards, Pete

I don't really know if there's a regulation about bands over here, I would have to ask that at the field.

As I said, channel 13 (72.050)

The crystal has just arrived.
Thank you very much Laggard.

Now I just need the battery, which hopefully will come next week, and this plane is going to be up in the sky.
