I just wanted to introduce myself; I live in Wi where is snows 11 months of the year. The other month is divided into the remaining 3 seasons.
I was just browsing through Craigslist when I saw a Valencia for sale.
I just bought it today; had an hour to buy it/ and drive back to PU wife for
work today.
I have been flying the original Super Cub and recently upgraded to the Lipo
version of the plane.
I will have to re attach the horizontal stabilizer; and replace the electronics.
I have several specific Qs:
1) can I use the motor from the Super cub Lipo version
2) what size prop if using above motor
3) any ideas for replacing the plastic wing tip covers
4) anyone have closeup videos of their baby (valencia
)
Well the wife is needing help around the house; so off to earn points

truckerpilot,
Here's the manual. The file was to large to upload as one document, so after multiple tries, I ended up having to split it into 4 sections.
I still haven't had the time to get this plane flying, but the two recommendations on motors are these -
HobbyPeople - 2814/06 Brushless Motor, 1290Kv (http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php...-hardware.html)
or
Hobbyking - Turnigy Aerodrive Xp TR 35-42D, 1000Kv (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=3884)
The HobbyPeople motor is the one I'll probably get, as it's local and was recommended to me by one of the sales guys that's been there since before they sold this Valencia in their store.

Here is my Etude 1200. I found it in a junk shop about 5 years ago and bought for $20. I tried flying it with the brush motor and gearbox that came with it on Nicads. It would not fly. I tested the motor and found a burn winding. I installed a brushless motor with 3s lipo and it flys good. I had a crash and lost the cowl. I made a new cowl using a paper model enlarged. The paper cowl is put together with masking tape. I reshaped the bottom front of the fuselage to match the paper cowl. Both the cowl and wing tips are now held on with clear shipping tape. Only complaint with the model is the landing gear bends every time I land the plane.

Hi Folks,
I just dug out my Kyosho Breezin from the old storeroom which was only flow once or twice from my younger days. I removed the old electronics, motor and battery and am planning to convert it to brushless power plant, LiPo, micro servo and 2.4Ghz radio.
I have a couple of questions here:
1. What will be a good size BL motor which will turn a prop which clears the ground with original landing gear and offers great power for vertical climb?
2. Can I use 4.5g microservo on this plane and not suffer servo failure?
3. The long pushrods on the rudder and elevator looks ancient in design, anyone tried to mount micro servos on the vertical stabilizer ?

I have finally converted the breezin into 1880 kv brushless motor, 8x3.8 APC prop, added flaperons, and a 3S 1500mah Lipo. Also mounted 2.5g microservos for rudder and flaperons onto the fuselage. Was going to maiden her this morning, but guess what, the prop saver elastic band snapped and I maiden the prop instead!
Stupid me, I should have known a prop saver would not survive such high speed and such prop.
