Default Skywalker X5 with a PX4Pilot FC

I have fitted one of my X5s with a PX4Pilot Flight Controller and took it for its' first fly with this set-up this morning. Beautiful day, no wind, no clouds and not hot.
It all went perfectly. I tried Manual mode, Loiter Mode, Stability Mode and RTH Mode.
Happy enough with the results but need to slow it down a bit so I am making some adjustments to do so. It has a digital airspeed sensor so speed adjustments are fairly simple.
I need to work out how to brake my SimonK ESC to be happy.
Then, on to autonamous flights....

Do you actually fly the wing or do you program it and then the control system flies it?

I fly it, but I intend trying autonamous flight in the near future.
Fine tuning the trimming etc first.

I have another X5 that I fitted retracts to as well but I will leave it as is.

I have been flying it trying to get the Auto Landing to work but it eludes me.
RTH and Loiter work very well and you can hear the motor speed changing because of the airspeed sensor so I know that part is OK.
I need to work out exactly what settings are needed for landing. I thought I had it, but a few times it tried a mad dive after I selected landing mode. Lucky to recover it actually, in fact once it clipped the ground just as I got it straightened up. No damage at all.

Just couldn't get it right. It flew sort of OK but nothing worked quite as I thought it would.
I decided to remove the PX4 from the X5 and put it in my new Quadcopter. I am having way more fun with that.

As I was removing the PX4 I noticed that the SD card had ejected and was lying underneath the power module??? Have I been flying it like that? Maybe that is why I wasn't having a lot of success.

I had been using the PX4 Firmware and a X5 template so when I come back to it I will try Ardupilot instead. Might have more luck maybe.

Well I still have an Extra Pixy so I might try it in a conventional Plane instead of a flying Wing.
