Okay - for bragging rights - I'm in too.
In my case it's more of a want to participate than it is a will participate as I have a project going that will take me through Oct. 25. Then it's all about the weather!! LOL!!
But - as far as I know - I'm in!

I've considered an entry on this....however, as it is a competition to be judged by our WattFlyer peers, and I, being a very competitive guy, find I will not be very competitive since I do not own a GoPro, Mobius, AEE Magicam or equal......there's very little chance a rig with a $10.00 to $40.00 camera will match the quality of those who use semi-pro equipment like mentioned above (as well as advanced video software).......at least three of those signed-up have admitted to that application.........
It will be interesting however.......I'll consider entering a contest when the equiment catagories are more clearly defined and the playing field is much more even........it's all in fun until it's judged and competitive.....

The 808 Key Camera #16 can be purchased for about $40 and provides very good video. See some of mclarkston's videos in the other thread on starting an AV contest! The Mobius is about $70. Not outragous, but not dirt cheap either.
As far as editing software, I use freeware stuff only. I'm not producing anything that I'm getting paid for, so I'm not spending anything either.
I'm planning on using the Windows 8.1 Movie Maker for my editing and a Mobius camera. I've only created a handful of movies before so it's really a learning experience for me... I join contests to force myself to complete a task/build within a reasonable time frame so I can learn and play... If you get good shots and are creative, I think anyone could win!
Please feel free to join!

When I won my video contest I used a cheap $40 camera that wasn't even meant for video. I just happened to string the videos together to make a cool theme and won by a landslide.

Just look at it this way. Make the video for WF members. It'll be fun no matter if you are trying to win or not.

Great fun Steve! A DL plane is something I've never tried... Looks like a blast!
I've only had one chance for filming so far, and it was totally overcast... Weather's been pretty crappie lately... Hopefully this weekend will bring some sun.

My little Cube camera is out on loan and the Fish Eye will not cut it....maybe next time.
Thanks for the invite guys.....I'll be watching.......

I forgot to ask earlier, but if you wouldn't mind, can you share what model you are using to film your videos please? Just say; fixed wing, helicopter, multirotor, etc.
It won't effect your entry, I am just curious what people are using these days.
Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,
All I have is fixed wing aircraft, so that's what I'll be using. I'm still playing with mounts and deciding exactly what the video will be about. I will most likely make sure the plane(s) that the video is shot from gets a picture/video segment to show it as well.

Got it. Thanks Gents. I know why MM got away from the Magpie. At least I have my suspicions anyway. Very few people use fixed wing for AP anymore. It is all multirotor now. That is why I wanted to know. I think airplanes make for better overall videos.
