I have been flying the EFlite beaver for a couple of years off the lake at our cabin.
I decided to see how far I could scale the Beaver out for this summer season.
I purchased scale flat top fiber glass custom made floats from Roger at Sea Commander floats up in Canada. I also purchased the scale stainless steel float mounting system. I added scale nav lighting and I installed an EFlite 46 size outrunner motor which fit well. I needed the larger motor to add power to make up for the extra weight that the scale floats and mounting gear added.
With this set up I balanced the plane by putting weight in the nose of the floats. She flies great and very steady with wonderful water landings and take off.
Anyway I thought I would post a couple of pictures.

Vern, nice job! The nav lights would be cool for twilight flying in the evening. Now all ya need is a model canoe tied to the floats.
The DHC-2 Beaver is my favorite plane and once I learn to fly better I hope to build a model. The E-Flight Beaver has some of the details missing but it is still a VERY nice model w/o the headache of building from scratch.
Envious!

I throughout the woul wing struts and made scale struts out of tear drop aluminum from the hobby store. I painted them to match. I purchased scale rudders and for better tracking in the water I installed two rudders just like on the real Beaver.
