Flew the GWS Beaver Sunday. Put some homemade skis on her, which by the time we walked over to fly, the snow had got mushy, so it wouldnt take off. Landing it was a mess as well. Have to wait for the snow to freeze. So, we just flew around. Always a fun plane to fly! Wind was abot 8 mph.
yeah, the problem on the east coast mid atlantic area is you will get a ton of snow..and the next day you get 50 degree warm air off the water which makes muck out of it. Actually ened up landing on the road in front of the house, dry asphalt. The ski's slid about an inch!! before she stopped...does that count?
Thanks for the offer! I just might do that this spring! been years...and I mean years since I was down that way...Fond memories of FORT USELESS. In my Chinook days.

That's what we started calling it when we had to the joint basing them with them
Now it's part of Joint Base Langley/Eustis. (notice whose name went first!)
Just finished this GWS DHC-2 Beaver for some friends to fly. They are looking to get into RC flying, so trying to hook-em on this one. She flys really nice. A little more weight than the white one I have...with the paint and added cosmetics. But flys really nice and slow.
