Arrow servo questions

when it comes to buying a tail servo does it matter if it is the same as the others or not. I crashed my heli and the gears got destroyed but I think this was causing my heli to spin uncontrolably.
your assistance is greatly appreciated,
Heliman

i put a hitec hs5065mg digital servo on my tail when i upgraded to the 401 gyro. it works fine. but it is the same physical size as the rest of my servos.

i got the feeling you need a larger servo, but not sure why

Not necessarily. What heli do you have and what gyro?

Ok,

That's just the stock gyro. The Exceed is a rebadged Walkera. Not sure which one though.

Since that gyro is not digital you can put just about any servo of similar physical size on the bird. The stock servos being Walkera are not that great. I'd look at Hitec HS-65HB servos as potential replacements.

Hope that helps.

Sorry forgot to answer that question.

On the tail servo it is not critical to be the same. In fact most good CP helis will have a completely different servo on the tail.

The three cyclic servos should be identical as they need to operate in unison fairly often and need the same amount of speed and arm operations.

Also, fairly often you'll find helis with a tail optimized servo such as a digital servo to mate to a digital gyro.

For the tail you want something fast, under 0.1sec to hold the tail better. Try Fusonic HB-D-02 or HB-D-06. It is a new brand but I am using the 06 with Futaba 401 in my CopterX 450 and it hold really well.
