Default Pfalz

I vote for the Pfalz as well. It's a good choice and it's something different. I do have a set of plans for one (from a magazine) that I have been threatening to build. Guess I have to hurry, Flying season will be here before too long. Marty

Beautiful kit Nieu! The lazer cut kits are superb to build. You gotta love it! Keep us up to date on the build. Any idea how you will cover/paint her yet? Marty

I have started painting...black paint on front of fuse and cowl...as for the covering...I am using white towercoat I purchased from Tower a long while back. I have an order of black pinstripe to add detail, and a 5/32 alum tube for the elevator yet to arrive. From the plans I think I figured out how to attach the rudder (woke up at 3 am with that thought and worked it out). Still not quite sure what to glue and how the elevator attaches..will have to check the forums. Thanks for noticing.

Flying season is never gone. Wind dropped yesterday so I took my Hans Grade out for a flight. It was very damp even without the wind my fingers were numb by the time the flight was over. Winter here has been warm, no single digits yet. Not much snow either, havn't had to put the skis on my Curtiss N9 yet.

NFG: Very clean looking build!! Looks great. Looking forward to the first flight!

Same here in Virginia as far as weather goes. A very mild winter. Reaches 50 almost daily no matter how cold the early am hours are. Very sunny skies, puffy clouds and almost zero flight hours. Wind is historically crazy. I keep seeing windy days increasing every day that goes by, as it was last year. Windy days are out numbering the no wind days. Makes me wonder whats going on. Even the sailplanes are flying like kites. I am thinking about buying a RC sailboat....THAT will stop the wind!

Here is the latest progression...the wheels are only for show. Thought I had a larger set...but had to order.

Added rigging...but ran out of music wire to finish. Almost done though...think this is my best project to date.

Ta-Da....Now I just have to wait for a calm day to maiden her. Think this is my best completed kit to date! (Winds from the winter storm were howling and she acted like she just wanted to fly as I carried her to the field for her photo shoot!)

Spec calls for 15.5 oz w/ geared motor...mine comes in at 10.5 oz with HURC 2712-12 motor from Heads Up. That sounds promissing!
