Thanks Randy. As long as we play with toys we'll have no idea.

Bruce, you're only old because your body was designed around 3s. So you're aging twice as fast!

Steve,
I can't beat you but I'm in close trail..........54 this September.

My motto around the grumpy old A** H*** wet power & glider guys here is:
"You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever."
Besides, having more fun is the best revenge.

I don't go as far as one of our guys here that actually threatened to shoot (with a .45 Auto) one old goat that was suspected of using his synth radio to intentionally down an electric flyer that had THE GALL, THE NERVE, THE UNCOUTH to fly at "the" gas field!
Cheers,
-Mike

Default I'm staying right here!

I'll be 46 in August, so I'm catching up to some of you and at the same time waiting for the rest of you to catch up! I guess that means I refuse to get older, nuff said!:p

My last Lipo just peaked. Time for bed so i can get up early enough to fly in the calm air, nite all.

Not "old". "VINTAGE!"
Now I have to get back to my 1945 Comet P-59 solid model! I'm a-whittling!

Say, speaking of which...I have plenty of vintage solid models. With all the dimensions and patterns you would need to carve vacuforming plugs...

Check out the Fei Bao website, if you haven't already...the number of plugs they have under construction is pretty staggering! Those guys are SERIOUS!

Have you heard the old proverb that says "sc--- me once, shame on you, sc--- me twice, shame on me"

well, I lost my Halair MIG 29 when the berg receiver locked out. I have switched most my planes to my spectrum. Well today I flew my HET F18, that had a berg in it. About two minutes into the flight I went to do a roll and nothing happened, total lock out. It flew straight for two to three seconds then rolled over and dove straight in then died from a acute case of deceleration trauma. Debris was spread out for 10 to 15 meters.

Maybe this time I will learn my leason. Anyone want to buy some bergs...........cheap

At least the fan, motor and esc survived. We didn't locate the servos, the plane went down in a thornbush and was a nightmare to get out. One good thing was the fact that my 3s 3250 tanic survived the impact.

That sucks, I've only had one time that a Berg has gone into lockout and that was Mig #1's maiden. I did plow a really good flying F-18 into a cornfield straight down and wide open, with the 700 watt setup in it so it could get going real fast before it hit. After the same anomoly of being locked out happened on another plane I sent my TX in to Hitec to have it checked out and turns out my synthesizer module was faulty and had been the cause of my problems. I know everyone has different experiences but I'll swear by my Bergs, I bought one of the new 4 channel ones that are under Castle Brand now for the F-22 and havent had any issues other than an occasional motor hickup but my field sucks so I can't blame the RX. Still eventually I'll get the Spektrum as it has some nice advantages like not having to deal with the frequency board or wait for an open channel. And the already micro antenna the RX has saves my $12.00 a model not having to buy micro antennas. I'll hold out until you can get it with just the TX and RX and no servos.

Oh man sorry about the loss!
I dislike lockout type rxs because of that. People think they don't glitch but infact they just lockup when they do get glitched. and most of the time you won't realize anything happened. I like my planes to start displaying erratic behavior so I can at least try get away from that area.

I have a Hitec 6CH rx in my JePe A-4 and out at our club field it is the glitch master. If I turn on the RX without the TX being already on it goes completely nuts, it will arm the ESC and the motor will start going and all the servos will bottom out and buzz there pushin so hard. I can do the same with my Bergs and leave the TX off and they will never utter a peep until I flip the TX on. Me and my buddy StRyKeR have even had two TX's on, tuned to the same channel while I was flying and the Berg never gave Chucks TX a second look, even after I turned mine off. The hitec works fine though, it just gets more hits but I just fly through them. The problem with the Lokout or Failsafe is that you have no way of knowing what orientation the plane will be in when the failsafe occurs, so how could you possibly know how to set the servos and throttles for that?!?!
