Question For sale? Sold? How does this work?

Why do some items show "sold" in the title when they are sold and then others say "For Sale" so if interested you dig all the way through the thread only to find the last post says "sold"

I'm just getting into the hobby again and I'd like to know how these "for sale" ads work, might be able to save a buck or two.

Dan, the user who makes the fore sale post makes the selection to put "For Sale", "Wanted" and "Sold" as choices on the title of the post.

In a perfect world the user will select for sale and then go in and edit it to show sold once the item has been sold. They don't always do that and we as Mods try to go through every now and then and clear things up.

I have been a member for a long time and just learned the other day how to put the "sold" post sign in the "For Sale" post place.

Go into "edit" in the original post and then ' Go Advanced', you can change the "For Sale" post ad to "Sold" post ad there.

After that you can "close" the thread in the "Thread Tools".

The best way to find actual items for sale is to only look back for a month or so. Usually, anything older is sold or used up. Like Bill said, we try to keep the posting up date, but it is not really our responsibility to do so. Lots of times, we don't know if the item is sold or not.
