Default DX7 Flaps Programming

I am trying to set up a new E-Flite Commander, using a DX7 transmitter. Everything works normally except the flaps. Although the flaps will operate using the rocker switch, they will not respond to the 3 position flap switch.

Flaps work normally with the 3 position switch programmed for a P-47 with the same set of control surfaces.

Both models have the following settings: (among others)
Wing Types all OFF

Input Select Aux2: 2 position switch
Aux2 Trim: INH
Flap: System
Flap Trim: ACT

The P-47 Flap System is set to:
Norm: Flaps UP 110%, Elevator 0%
Mid: Flaps UP 24%, Elevator 0%
Land: Flaps DOWN 72%, Elevator 0%
Auto: INH

The Commander Flap System is set to:
Norm: Flaps UP 100%, Elevator 0%
Mid: Flaps 0%, Elevator 0%
Land: Flaps DOWN 100%, Elevator 0%
Auto: 0%

The obvious difference is the INH versus 0% in the Flap System setup. I cannot figure out how to get the Commander set up to INH.

Again, the P-47 flaps work as desired using the 3 position switch. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I will try to help as I have a DX7. First it does not make any difference what the plane is because the plane does not know what the Receiver is, nor does it care.

The first thing I see wrong is your WING TYPE. There is no such thing in the DX7 WING TYPE called All OFF. You have to select the correct Wing Type to match your plane configuration. Of the choices you have:
  • Normal; Ailerons on a single channel where you use a "Y" connector. Normally ch 2
  • Dual Ail: A channel for each Aileron usually channels 2 and 6.
  • Flaperon: Like Dual ailerons, and uses channels 2 and 6
  • 1 Ail 1 Flap: Just as the name implies, one channel for Ailerons and one for Flaps on channels 2 and 6.
  • 1 Ail 2 Flaps: Requires 3 channels.
  • 2 Aileron 1 Flap: Requires 3 channels
  • 2 Ail and 2 Flaps: Requires 4 channels.

Anyway you have to program your Wing Type to match your Receiver configuration. Bottom line here is you have to use at least 2-channels to have Flaps (Flaperon or 1 Ail 1 Flap) , and up to 4 channels.

Which DX7? Sounds like you might be using one of the old original ones from 10 years ago. Is that correct?
