pvtzemerak,

Any new progress on this bird? I suffered a few minor setbacks at the field recently. http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41010 I had to push the Texan off of the bench for now.

Yup, i just installed all the servos.
Im having troble with the retracts, the shaft is a little too wide for the collar that holds the wheel in. Any ideas how to fix this?

I don't have the retracts for mine yet. My only suggestion at this point is to try sliding on the collar after completely removing the grub screw. Also maybe check the collar to see if there are any burs on the inside that would prevent it from sliding on.

I just stuck my head into the manual. Did you file one side of the shaft flat and it still doesn't fit? Maybe after you file the shaft it will fit properly.

Well, I finally got a chance to look at my Texan. Work will begin ASAP. Here is a photo of how it comes out of the box. As a tribute to my good friend Angler-Hi I included a pic of my new sneakers

Back on topic. I'm NOT off to a good start so far. I discovered that one of the wings control horns is broken . I'll have to scrounge one out of my junk box and get back to work.

Thanks for the offer, but I have found one and fixed the problem. Didn't get much done today. Looks like I won't have another chance to work on this until maybe Friday. This is as far as I got

I scored one of these this weekend for 120 bucks. I wasn't really in the market for it but couldn't pass it up at that price. Any idea on an alternate (cheap) to the E-Flite power 25?

I use this brand's power 32 equivalent on another plane and I love it. Nice price too. http://www.valuehobby.com/product_de...d=1&item_id=10

Thanks for the tip. I don't plan on building this till after the first of the year so I've got time to make a list of stuff needed to complete it. Truth be known, I was (still am) looking at the HL Mini Senior Sportster, hoping it'd show up on their Black Friday sale list but missed it. Then over the weekend I popped into my LHS and they were blowing a lot of stuff out and the AT/6 was calling out to me. I like the plane, but not quite sure if I'm ready to move up to it. I'm completing a GWS P40 right now and if I get the hang of that, I'll reward myself with the AT/6. So far I'm only proficient on my slow stick and my E-Starter. Figure once I quit busting up foamies so often I'll move up to balsa.
....chris

Got a chance to put in a few minutes with my Texan today. I'm trying to decide whether to paint the radial engine or not. What do you guys think? Here in DE we have a few rainy days coming so I hope to have more time to make progress on this.

I love the look of the radial engine the way it is.
What color are you thinking of painting her?

By the way guys, I got her assembled except for the ESC and batter
Pictures will be added soon.
Merry christmas

Haven't checked in to this thread in a while. No new progress on this bird with all the Christmas and New Years festivities.

I am planning on painting the "engine" as suggested in the manual. Pvt I would like to see some more pics of yours! I got my son a VXL Stampede R/C truck and that has been taking my mind off of airplanes! But not for long! I'll be back.
