Question 3D Foamie recommendation

I'm not sure if this is in the right location since I'm asking about a suitable 3D foamie. Maybe I should have posted in 3D.

As it turns out I have servos, motor, batteries, esc, and receiver but no plane. I'm wanting a rugged foam plane that will fly slow enough that I can learn 3D flying without sacrificing my more expensive planes. Something that I can fly in the park behind my house.

I'm really more of an ARF sort a guy. Just don't have the time to tackle cutting my own foam from plans.

I've been doing the google thing but seems google isn't my friend.

Therefore I'm looking for recommendations from those in the know.

This is the motor I have
http://www.hobbypartz.com/alpha-370-...ess-motor.html
Don't beleive the watt rating. Probably morte like about 140 watt at about 50 grams.

I have three new 9 gram servos and an 18 amp ESC. Batteries are not a problem either as I have quite a variety of three cell packas of various sizes.

Honestly I've been using this hardware in a 33 inch flat foamie that my brother gave me. It had been thrashed before I ever got it from him but knowing my plan was to thrash it further I figured it was worth the time and glue to make it air worthy. Problem is that while it will fly...well...it is worse for the previous thrashing that my brother put it through. Pull to go vertical and the fuselage twist, you can see the alignment of the elevator to wing change to something more akin to an X and well...it just doesn't fly all that well. Also it could be many years old and I think being stored in his Texas hot attic has left the foam is a rather bad way.

So I'm looking for a new airframe Anyone got any recommendations?

Dan

I have been having a lot of fun with this one the past two or three weeks, picked it up at the Weak Signals show in Toledo, but it might need a little more motor than what you have. The motor they sell in their complete kit is a 200 w . You would also need a 4th servo.
The link below is to the airframe kit only, looks like they are out of stock on the complete kit. There is also a link on their page to review that NitroBlast did on WattFlyer back in December 2010

Flies very well, deals pretty well with some wind and easy to work with in a fairly small area.

Good luck with whatever you end up getting

Trying not to sound like a broken record, but check my signature..

I'd also recommend BOTH the AirfoilZ and the 2 Dog.

The Airfoilz is lighter, and more responsive, where the 2 Dog is near bulletproof and will survive a much harder hit.

(P.s. both make good Thrust Vector conversions http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61024 )

I have had two Airfoilz, a Katana and the Extra300, both fly excellent and can be flown by someone with just a little experience if the throus are set low>>>
