Just received the Horizon Hobbies flyer yesterday and noticed that they are now offering a Mini Supercub. Should be a very nice addition to the trainers and if it is as good as the origional it should be a big hit. My first flight was with a Supercub so this should be better for smaller flying areas. Enjoy.

Yeah they have a bunch of them at the LHS where I picked up my Super Cub (regular size) today.
I came close to getting the mini, but I am not experienced enough and feel the larger plane and wing will help with the wind around here.
$119.00 for them btw.

Not as a whole kit package, however you can simply purchase the necessary bare airframe / spare parts & add your own electronics as you see fit.

And if I can explain it, the wing from front to back is the same thickness.
So it has a curved profile on the bottom the same as the top.
Under camber the right word?
I just went out to maiden it and the wind is so strong it was blowing it back down the driveway!

Well I got one of these and had two successful flights yesterday. Did not time the first, the second was 6 minutes then the battery got weak. I was pleased with the plane, and didn't even crash!
But the battery ??
The very first charge took about 55 minutes. The second was about 60 minutes charging not complete and I disconnected and flew.
Third charge again using the included charger took 1 hour and 20 minutes to charge today and the charger still did not stop blinking. WTF?
I stopped it, battery was not warm. I measured 8.3 volts from the battery with a digital meter.
How long are your charging times?
This is strange...

Finally flew mine. At first it wanted to wallow around without much control.
So I moved the lipo as far foward as possible and it made a big difference.
Makes me wonder if it could stand a little more weight forward.
I did get some flying in though. Its really got to be a calm day but you have to remember Im flying in the front yard which is probably 100 x 125 feet with a barb wire fence on one side and trees on 3 sides and power lines on one.
Recharging, gonna try some kind of Jerry rig camera video.
The wife is away this weekend.

I just ordered the parts to make one...
anyone Put brushless/ailerons on it yet?
I'm thinking I'll use this motor with some 500mah 3cell lipos....

I'll have to either use an eflite stick firewall mount, or just cut out and glue a stick in for the mount....
Hopeing to have this hovering soon....LOL

I'm pretty sure the stock prop is 7 x 3.5
I have not started my build, been working on other projects, and yet to research an appropriate powerplant so keep us updated on what you come up with
not sure if I want to stick mount or fabricate something for an outrunner...like folks have done on the regular SC.

I'll have to look at that....
maybe I can run the 15amp turnigy motor on small 4cell packs... that should bump the rpm's up... ( I hate underproping motors)

I am looking for more flying impressions of this plane...reviews seem pretty hard to come by. Info on the big Cub is vast and overwhelmingly positive, but I think its too big for my field (plenly long, but maybe 150-200 feet wide). I usually fly over the light posts & trees, but they can come into play (don't ask how I know...)
I currently fly a Firebird Phantom, and will replace it/add to it eventually.
What say the Mini SC fliers??
Thanks in advance.
