Hey all,

Well was wondering, how exactly do you make PDF plans? Like the ones that you hit print and you put the pages together and you have a template. I have sketchup(free version from google) and also PTC Prodesktop(from school it sucks) maybe i could download a free Cad was looking at them before. But yeah could you guys maybe do a step by step explanation, maybe a video perhaps... i would really like to know so that i can design and make plans for sweet flying airplanes.

I ususally draw up my stuff with MS Visio then use a PDF Writer. I think there is a free version of PDF writer, I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

You can use whatever you want to draw a plan.

Install this:

when you want to make a pdf of your drawings, just select 'print', then select 'pdf' and store to your pc.

Ahhh thanks man! yeah rc powers is doing a thing where they pay you 7dollars for a plane you designed and made a plan for plus anyways if i build something really cool and people are like oh man how sweet! got any plans? and i can just make them. Know what im sayin?

how would you do dimensions on the drawing? like on pro desktop i know how to do it and then plot it out. maybe Prodesktop would be my best bet.

Try that and PDF it. If you can use dimensions in prodesktop then thats your answer.

Can you do another step by step info? im just doing a basic wing half PDF file.

Hmmm just did this form to get a Cad software kinda odd they'd ask for your adress phone number n' al

Cool i did it!!!! well at least i think i did. I downloaded the free version of Cocreate i think its called man it is sick! let me tell ya you can create a gas engine for an airplane and explode it into an exploded view now how cool is that? Plus you can set all your units and stuff. but anyways heres my basic first PDF page. Before you know it ill be spittin out plans like a factory hehe

WEll my first "real" plans will be a 3D plane if it flies well. I still have to figure out how to scale em so when you hit print they come out full scale.

Keep playing with it, you should figure out the dimension part.

YEah im thinking of making thsi Seaplane(not really meant for water though lol) might taxi in the pond for fun but i dont understand floats yet. but im stating to draw out the parts and how i will build it. Problem is i cant print anything(yet) lol dont have balck ink.
