Nice paint job!

Jim ("eliworm") is a personal friend, and he showed me this before the maiden. Decided to go ahead and cut one out myself. Got the maiden done yesterday, and one more flight done today.

I'm using an 1806N motor, 10A ESC, 450mAh 3S lipo and a GWS 4530 prop. Not a barn burner, but flies great!

I'm doing mine as a Bud Light scheme. Need to get paint and decals on it now.

Happy Holidays :

I know this is an old thread, but a BD5J model has been a long time ambition for me. This model looks great. Would you by any chance happen to remember the all up weight ? I'm wondering if a Grayson Hobbies super micro jet v3 (30 grams of weight and 20 ounces of thrust that I have available would be way to big ? Also, how did it fly , if you can recall. Thanks in advance for any information. I'm trying to decide on my next build.

The Micro Jet v3 would be too much for this in the scale I posted above. However, you could always scale up the plans to accommodate. What you want is the prop opening to be at least 6.25" wide so that an APC 6X4 prop will fit.

For the size plans posted, we used this motor:

I appreciate your quick reply crxmanpat - Thank you ! Your advice seems valid for any kind of a scale up or down situation to plan around a particular motor - Again thank you for sharing your experience to help me out,
