Default TM Pro Extra 260 Nitro Conversion

http://www.topmodelproduction.com/Extra260-P.htm F B Minnisteve ordered a 32" W S Extra 260 -3D Electric. They sent a 48" w. s. .50cc gasser, profile balsa ARF.I don't know what that says about Chinese shipping clerks but "You get what you pay for " isn't what comes to mind. So we converted it to E .P . a E-Flight power 25,Turnigy 60 A esc , 2250ma 4s 35c li-po and 4- 225 mighty minni Hitec M.G. servos. It pulls 42A on a 11x7.5 APC-E prop and 50A on a 14x7 APC-E prop here's some pics and a video of maiden http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/show...&postcount=788 I think this plane will perform like the 48" w s profile Yak 54 ,that has a long thread on R/CGs and Mike has a thread here ,after we get a few trimming issues worked out. It flys very predictable on the sticks unlimited verticle of course and came in at 3 lbs. 5 oz. AUW. I don't know what Minnisteve paid for it and I don't think he does either yet. LOL P. S. hey Mike P. watch the company demo video and let us know when you can do those stunts with your Yak. Those Co. Demo pilots are not mortal like the rest of us.And they can get as many planes as needed for those videos HUH?

I checked my credit card statement.... total price was $130 including shipping... I think the other model was a little cheaper, so I might have been charged for the bigger one... Oh well... This thing is great....and if the reg price is $130, its a good deal....

this is also my first plane using flaps,.... which work pretty well.... first trimming issues were that I had both ailerons up a few degrees to much... that meant that it handled better on the ground but didn't want to pull off the ground without some power... it also messes with knife edges.... I've trimmed them down and will try using the flaps down for takeoffs and landing next time instead of just for landing...

Flying this thing was great... hovering is possible, although I still need to trim some expo into rudder... slowflight was amazing... this thing slows down pretty slow for a 3.5 pound plane...

next week "hopefully" I'll get some better footage of it... but for the meanwhile...
here is a video...

Lets see if we got all the parts listed here...

$130 -Tmpro model
$105 - 60amp Turnigy esc and 4cell 2250 25-35c battery
30x4=$120 for 4 hs225mg servos
$90 for eflite 25 motor

yup, these big projects cost quite abit... lucky for me Al had half of the stuff...

Do you have more video of the Extra 260 conversion. Was your power 25 the 870 KV or 1250 KV motor. If you had to do it again, would you still use a power 25 or would you go for a bigger motor ? Or simply go for a bigger propellor. I have the kit, new in box, and wish to convert it to electric as well. Any advice you have would be appreciated.

Thanks
