Default Miss Stick (RTC)

Well, here she is : Miss Stick ready to cover.

I made a few "adjustments" :

Added ribs to the lower part of the fuselage after the old structure kept breaking again and again and again...

The wing is attached with nylon bolts. Construction turned out to be a little on the heavy side.

I added a steerable tailwheel. What I can show so far is the wire attached to the rudder. After I covered the parts, the rudder will be permanently attached to the fuselage with the wire going through a whole I drilled in the elevator and fuselage. I will then attach a servo arm with epoxy to that wire and connect it to the servo arm of the steerable tailwheel with a smaller wire on each side. Yeah yeah yeah I know.... picture will follow.

I'll be happy to share any advice about building her, but I do not believe that it's necessary. It is a very easy and straight forward process. Just follow the instructions of the manufacturer. If they tell you in bold letters to make sure the wires of the Axi Motor are at the bottom of the cowl, there might be a good reason for it. I thought: well somewhere at the bottom is good enough and had the hardest time to get the engine attached.

I hope when I fly her the first time I will not end up as a

Bruchpilot

P.S.: If you tell my wife what happened to her iron board I'll be in trouble!

P.P.S: I KNOW I'll have to glue the wings together berfore I fly her!

Man oh man...

It's been so long since I saw a Ready To Cover plane, that when I read your post, I honestly thought you were joking.

I thought you were suggesting it was a RTC... Ready To Crash.

Like so many RTF's out there.

Why do you have that spar like stick over the top of the airfoil shape in the picture that shows the nylon wing bolts?

"Ready To Crash"? Have you ever flown a Miss Stik? You almost have to intentionally fly one of those planes into the ground!

Hey, if I can keep it out of the trees, you can keep it off the ground.

Dragging this post up again because I want to see it covered.

Plus I want to hear about any tips you may have learned covering it.

I am about to start this kit and was wondering what is on your ribs. Looks like some kind of tape? Thanks

You mean this?

Attachment 54717

Good question, it does look like he's covered the upper sticks with something. Perhaps for reinforcement? The upper sticks are "broken" over the wing spar...

Fess up Bruch, there are no secrets allowed in a build thread!
