I live near Grantham in Qld and belong to the Lockyer Valley Aeromodellers Club. See Facebook.
I love all types of aircraft (except helicopters.) I love Wings, Bipes, Gliders and Quads.( Pixhawks and missions)
Currently have about 25 or so flyable planes. I'd have more, but no room.
I have a 40 acre property with a lot of bush so plenty of room to fly at any time.
When I'm not on my tractor I am in my toyshop playing :-)
Live in far West Texas(near Rio Grande).......actually on the Rio Concho Del Norte. I am like you....my flight field is about2 square miles.....high winds all the time. I love Migs and jets of all kinds but to relax a HawkSky is the ticket!!

Always wanted to visit Australia - almost afraid I might like it more than Arizona. It is a bucket list item. Your wide open spaces sound like a dream RC home to me. Post some pics!
Here's a hello from the flyers in Az!

Love that second photo above with all the gents standing on the taxiway. looks like home built designs are alive and well in down under . Just amazing the area you guys have to fly. I live in florida, and flying spaces and fields are drying up all over the state due to the increase of building. By the way that sign "DANGER MEN COOKING".I just love the Aussie sense of Humor ,it is without a doubt ,The BEST!!. Have a great day guys....fdnyjery

I fly my small planes and Quads here. Too many trees for the big ones.

LOL . it looks like it has you stumped...

This is our flying field when it gets dry. One of the guys was testing a autogyro. Note the huge dam in the background.

He built another one and it flew well. .
Our grass does get green sometimes.. LOL It was a long time between drinks in this video.
That dam is superb for float planes but no-one in the club is really interested. Quite a few non float planes have finished up in it over the years.

I only ever built one floatplane. It was a build and review for a modelling magazine many years ago. I would like another set of floats though.

This is my new one for a maiden tomorrow

I will try, trying2fly. Busy day at the club today. I have another maiden to do for one of the other club members and a bit of tutoring/mentoring. Probably not much time to myself. . but that's OK.

https://youtu.be/Ja7UkMpRYL8 No tutoring available out here in West Texas where I am. It is trial and error and in these winds you can see why flying is quite taxing!!! This is a short video of what I have had to learn to fly in.

Yep, I hate wind. Whilst I can fly in it, It just takes the enjoyment out of it.
