Oops
This better???

Even a lousy propeller driven electric launch system will result in longer flights than a rocket launch.

Ya but it lacks the cool factor! Flying along flip a switch and get a rocket boost. Like having a nitro tank on a street racer.

This is my test firing of the Bell X-1 I designed. 2 years ago, I designed a shuttle for my transport and dropped it successfully. I am in the process of adapting the Bell X-1 to the transport so we can take it high, release it, and let it come down, point nose high and go for a ride.

Any questions, I will try to answer.
That looked awesome....lemme know if you need a co-pilot on the first launch, I think I did o/k with the shuttle!

Rocket powered models are all about cool factor, not flight duration.

We had a group effort at the local club and air dropped the rocket plane, glided it down to just about ready to land then lit off the rocket engine. Early ignition control was by a servo operated switch. Later we put in an old brushed type ESC.
