E-flite Super Airliner Build Thread

It went out in spectacular fasion this past spring at SEFF. If you are going to go down might as well be in a blaze of glory!
I still really do not know what happened but several planes crashed in the same area that day. We all think it was a problem with radio reception. It affected all different types of radios though so that was never confirmed.

Hi SuperAirlinerfreak101,
If you are talking about the motor to the esc with bullet connectors, yes it's safe, all my planes have bullet connectors from the esc to the motor. My planes range in size from a guillows conversion to a top flite p51 converted to electric, never had an issue.
Here is my airliner maiden http://youtube.com/watch?v=vkOhAL7yU7M
Cheers,
Gord

Were you using a DX6 TX ? There have been lots of reports of receiver lock-up on them. BVincents Alfa A-4 flew off towards downtown Vegas

No Tom that was from the 06 SEFF. My first one was this year. I was flying it on a DX6 and it could have been the lockout thing but I do not think so. I had 50 flihgts on that setup before and have been using it since then in the new one without any problems.
I think it had something to do with the big center pivot water whell on the farm off to the left side of the field down there. On wednesday it was pointed at the flying field and that is when everyone, 2.4 and 72 mhz was having problems. By thursday it had rotated around to where no one had to fly ove it and the issues stopped.
From what I heard they have have 2.4ghz systems in them to tell it when to move and how long to spray... possible overpowered our radios. No one really knows though.

Bill? You crashed the 1st airliner?
I thought I had heard you had it parked near some of Tom's planes and he hit them with one of his on a landing or something.....
I could be wrong, I suppose......:p
