I'm getting close to finishing my first electric model. A 46" old timer . A silly question but I have purchased a Turnigy Plush ESC for the model. Can I assume that when the ESC turns off at the preset battery voltage it only turns off the power to the motor and power will still be provided for the RX. The rather comprehensive data sheet fails to mention that and it could be embarrasing if all power is shut down. Ken

I have several of these great, low priced Turnigys. You are correct, the power to the servos is maintained after motor cutoff. That way you still have control of your plane for a short time before the battery reaches the critical low voltage point. If that ESC has a BEC (as I assume it has) it will shut down or reduce power to the motor when the pack hits LVC, but you will still have full control over the servos.

I've got four of these and they seem to work great. Get the programming card, I can't imagine going through that beep code to set it up!!!!

With the card you can also select one of many annoying tunes to be played when it arms.

I set mine up to "high" voltage cut off, which as I recall was barely over 3 volts per cell. still leave plenty of electrons for dead-sticking it in.

Thanks everybody, I was sure that would be the case.

I went on a spending spree at Hobby City and I did purchase the Turnigy programming card as well as the Turnigy balancing charger along with all the other goodies. I haven't tried any of it yet. I have almost finished the fuselage and I intend to tie it down in the back yard and check everything out very soon.

I think I should have purchased one of those nice HexTronik VA testers they sell.

I planned to build up a meter shunt for my multimeter but the Hobby City ones would have been a simpler solution.
