Default New Melbourne monthly indoor plane event, first event THIS Sunday night

The first ARK Innovations indoor plane funfly is happening at the Donvale Indoor Sports Centre (DISC) in Melbourne THIS Sunday night Aug 17, 7pm-10pm.

Details can be found here http://www.arkinnovations.com/shop/...ain_page=funfly The top of the page deals with helis. Scroll down to the section titled "Planks Only Fun Fly" for info on the plane flying.

The DISC venue has been booked for plane flying on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 7pm-10pm for the next 4 months initially; dates are in the link above, which takes us up until Christmas. I'm sure that further dates will be booked if things run well. DISC has a 2 basketball court sized flying area with very few obstacles (floor, roof, walls, a couple of basketball rings, that's about it).

An email address has been setup at [email protected] for use in keeping in contact with interested people and informing them of events. If you're interested, please send an email to that address and ask anyone you think might be interested to send an email to it as well. Aidan (ARK Innovations) has been successfully running indoor heli funflys at DISC each month for a year or so and has decided to run a plane night as well.

Insurance cover will be provided by ARK Innovations' public liability insurance, so you don't need to be an RC club member to fly at these events.

An entry fee is charged for flyers ($15 including insurance, will drop to $10 if at least 10 flyers turn up). There's no charge for spectators and they are most welcome. Please tell all your friends to come along for a fly on Sunday night, or simply to have a look. There's bound to be plenty of action.

See you there.

Scott.
