I cut a slot in the foam the width of my lipo under the cockpit and slid the lipo back till it almost touches the rx. I use velcro on the bottom of the lipo. I've always flown it that way.

Your T-28 should have come w/ an ESC manual, instructions are in there. If not they should be online.
I left my ESC at the default setting, which means I didn't program it. It works...

OK, I just did a little research on this. Flaperons on a plane with the ailerons towards the wing tips (not full length on the wing) will cause tip stall, so a plane like the T-28 with small ailerons...
