Thanks for the input, I will bear that formula in mind. I have the Himax HC 6332-230and the Axi 5345/18 on the list for consideration. The Himax is listed as 2200 W.
Have finished the top wing and now need to proceed with the motor and radio installation prior to covering. |
Really nice plane Jordy but it's a little out of scale to your railroad!! Ha ha!! 2200 watts should allow you to fly at a scale speed. Glad I could help a little. Steve

All of you
All of you Guys have absolutely, positively, totally no class at all! Can't any of you think of another color besides RED? to put on your aircraft????? There were a great many WWI birds with not a hint of red anywhere on them. DO NOT make me comes over there cause my Spandaus are loaded and I have plenty of bullets for fools!:D:) Nice job Jordy. Keep us informed about the build. Murph paint her up to that striped color scheme. It's awesome! Steve, Murph, I owe you both a call. Soon Martin
|
Hi Marty....Definately going with the striped scheme...just trying to figure out how I am going to lay it all out before I begin......perhaps tonight or this weekend....:)
|
but real WWI pilots had red planes!
|
Thanks, Steve! I will try to post a more current pic or two. I am contemplating Max Muller's DV scheme, which has a red spinner...does that count:)? Jordy
|
I don't think a red spinner is bad. Each Jasta had their own color for each unit. I'd love to see more pics Jordy!! Steve

The proposed scheme...

Absolutely beautiful job jj.
|
Wow Jordy!!! Talk about scale!!! That is too cool!! Steve
|
I remember seeing a Proctor add the claimed "We guarantee at least a year's worth of building fun and enjoyment" with the particular plane. Having once had my hands on one of their kits (Sold it for a nice profit), I believe it!
|
Thanks for the compliments, guys! In may case, it's been since 2000, off again on again fun. I work like crazy for a few weeks, then turn to other projects. Slow yes, but I keep from getting burned out and getting sloppy. Now to decide on motor/controller, battery, servos and radio...then I can begin applying the fuselage plywood. Thanks again for the encouragement and advice on the set-up. Jordy

I am so pleased to see all of these scale guys posting here at Wattflyer. While I enjoy the simple bantering that I am so good at, I really appreciate the skill that folks like jjordison is showing and I feel it really raises the bar for the rest of us here.

Here's the Plotted scheme for the stripes etc...on the Fuselage.:)
All paint is going to be hand brushed....and is either Rust-Olium or Krylon..... |
I can appreciate the work, time and expense that goes into such a beautiful scale plane as yours jjordison, however I probably would never fly something with that much work in it. Just too nice to take any chances with it.
