Nice job!! Very little dehydral on her. What size motor you have on her Don? She sorta has lines of a TM...:D Great job from scratch my friend!
Have your son take one of your flyby's and slow motion by the cam...we want to see the pilot in that bad girl! BTW: great vids!

Another great video by KJ :D
Looking good Don

I have an AX-2306N motor. It is the motor I install in all my 250 planes. This plane flys a little faster than the Eflites. It has ailerons. I am afaird to get it much slower or lower. I tried the first time he went to video it. Crashed on second go round. Had to repair lower wings. Maybe if I keep flying it I will become better at controling a plane with ailerons.

Beautiful day for flying this morning. Temp 60, no wind, blue sky with white clouds, sun out, and flying area in the shade. Took the Breguet out for a flight. Took it up high and tried to roll it. It will not roll. Just banks over into a dive. Loops are no problem, I turned a roll attempt into a good looking loop. I like it best just flying around with slow gentle turns.

I built the plane with flat wings. It was too unstable for me to fly. I used the brace wires to pull the small amount of dehydral into the wings. What a differance that made. I have heard that easy flying airplanes make easy flying models and the reverse is true too. If that is the case the Breguet 14 with flat wings might have been an easy plane to loose the emeny. Just let go of the stick and hang on. What the plane would do no one knows. I did read an account of a WWI pilot that said his plane was so unstable that the only 2 times he had an emeny after him he just let go of the stick. He said when he let go he did not know what the plane would do and he guess the emeny did not know either cause he lost them.

Thats a good story... I have to laugh...I flew a very old Bunker Jungmeister years ago, it had come right out of an old crate, the guy didnt want to test fly it. I was stupid (well more stupid back then) and did the test flights for him. It flew alot like a Tiger Moth when you had your hand on the stick. Let go of it.....she made me look like a real good aerobatic pilot...I never told the guy the plane was on its own. He flew it a bit later, and still flies it to this day. Planes for sure have personalities!

Here is a video of my Wattage Sopwith Camel. Made this for everyone that wants to see loops. The other videos are just of one flight, nothing added or removed. This one my son spliced 2 flights together. I think this plane can fly slower than anyother plane I have. I am thinking about added ailerons to this plane.

I have a balsa USA Taube still in the box it has like 81 inch wingspan Ive never built anything as elaborate as this is there are probably 500 pieces to this kit. I hope to start working on it in the very near future though it will probably take until spring to finish. I will be looking fir advice on everything from glue to especially covering. I haven't covered a balsa plane yet. I would like to do something colorful.

This plane had lots of cables. Used wing warping for control.

Yes it is my backyard. When son swings the camera and you see the 3 martin houses my house is hidden in the background. The open field I fly over I own about 1/3, then there are 2 open fields that join it own by 2 other people. The field next to mine is a hay field too, then the next person mows his. I will try to make a video of one of my planes after the leaves change color this fall. Being able to fly this close to the house is really nice in the winter. I put the battery in the plane in the house then go out in the cold to fly. Only problem is taking off and landing. Runway is not too smooth or flat. LOL

Every once in a while I have to feed the bushes a plane. Once fed they will leave my planes alone for a while.

Beautiful plane Don , and it flys really nice also , and you have another really nice video to demo the joy of slow flight and biplanes . :)

Mini DRI

I shouldn't do this Boys, but look what I found! A mini DRI http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBBSJ&P=7
Just happens to be RED! Doesn't anyone have any imagination anymore? When (not if Boys!) I get mine, you can bet a week's pay it won't stay RED for long! Besides, I need a new INDOOR airplane for the winter season. Looks like this will fit the bill. Steve, I think you need ANOTHER DRI, don't you? :D;) Comments Boys? Marty

I wanted a Sopwith Triplane so I could chase that Flyzone Albatros around. I got to fly my flying buddy's Flyzone Albatros. I was doing ok till I kept slowing for a landing, it just suddenly quit flying and fell out of the air from about 2 feet up. No stall or any warning just fell. It is so light nothing was damaged. I like my 250-300 planes better. When you are flying think about my buddy, he is in the VA hosp. Hope he gets out soon.

**neons** 09-11-2011 10:57 PM

Don
I watched all your videos on YouTube. They are all very nice planes. I like your Breguet alot. It flew straight an nice. I noticed this video of the pretty Albatross was nice but the angle of attack in flight appears to be flying with the tail down most of the flight. Is it a tad tailheavy or does it need another degree of downthrust. It is almost like it is going to stall to me. What do you think? You are the pilot.

I think it is flying with the wings flat. Most of the underchamber of the top wing has flattened with age. It is not close to a stall. I think the only way to make it fly with tail highter is to take the wings off and change thier angle. This plane has been crashed several times and rebuilt at least twice.

Very nice!!! I like the scheme on that one Don! I wish I had your flight area, just looks peaceful. I love being able to walk accross the street to a school yard and have free reign, but at times it gets crowded and I have to ground the squadron. Looks like your only issue might be a tractor going by~~~ Nice job!

Been having fun working with some pics.

**neons** 09-24-2011 03:33 AM

Very nice flight. The plane has a nice color sheme and it is surely very easy to see in flight. Thanks for sharing your videos and ideas.
