4 inches of snow, temp just above zero, no wind, sun out. Put skis on my Eflite N9 Jenny and went flying till the wind came up.

I will have to get pictures of the Pup flying but my wife may say wait till spring. LOL I think warming into the 20s tomorrow, maybe I can talk her in taking some pictures if the wind is light enough.

The bomber is faster than the Pup. Not as easy to fly. I found something I like to use to make bombs for it so should have it ready for a bombing run soon.

Why do I need your address?? You think I might give up a WW1 plane? I know, you just want to keep me hooked. You have any idea how bad I shake just thinking about packing one? Do I need to put a stronger hex on the next pilot I send you? Tell me again what freq you fly on so I can tell my priestess. LOL

TM4197 01-22-2011 02:26 AM

hahahaha...Nice try! Thats why they made freq. hopping!!! been flying the WW2 warbirds when I can....just a need for speed thing right now....Spring time.....I'll break the Biplanes out!!

Here is a uniform that was common, of course large leather or wool jackets would be worn over it in flight...but this is pretty original...

Cool thank you for the pic i will use that color for starters. Doug

degreen60 01-28-2011 02:01 AM

I understand there was no flying uniform. The pilots wore what ever they wanted to stay warm. I paint my pilots like they are wearing leather coats with fun colar. I then use acrylic black thinned over 50% with water and a couple of drops of liquid soap to coat the pilot. Gives them a dirty look as I am sure the pilots were after flying.

I have rebuilt the crashed trashed Kavan Sopwith Triplane. I finished it as RNAS Sqn 1 PEGGY. It is ready for its first test flight. Behind it in the pictures is my scratch built Sopwith Triplane RNAS Sqn 8.

So many crashed planes, so little time. LOL

Next one finished will probably be the Bristol Scout I am working on.

Nice and sunny with a little wind today so I took the Kavan Tripe Peggy for its first flight. I was flying it with the motor almost off and in the wind it was still climbing. I had to dive to come down for a landing. I think it flys about the same as my scratch built Tripe.

mikeceleskey 02-19-2011 10:11 PM

great thread guys....hope the tripe flies well. Great day down here in FL.....76 and no wind!!!!

Worked on the E-flight nieuport some today.Just need to adjust the motor/ dummy motor so it doesnt hit the cowling. Also the rigging needs to be done .Cant wait for spring!! Doug P.S. Degreen your planes look great they should be on the blue max site!

Caught the landing gear wing in some tall grass with my Electrifly Fokker D7. smashed the wing ends up pretty good. Trying to decide whether to rebuild her or not. I really want either the Neiuport or the Fokker triplane (will change the color scheme Marty). I guess I'll put it on the back burner and let it simmer a little for now.

Hey Degreen, did you receive your book back yet? I could not find any other takers, so I thought I should get it back to you. Thanks for letting me take a look at it!
