Here are lots of printed paper WW1 models. You can download one free every 15 min. I have enlarged these, tile printed, and use to make a foam model. You could even use to make plans for a build up model.

My Wattage Camel is getting close to needing a rebuild. I want to redo it in something different than the green most are painted. Here are some pictures I am thinking of following for a different paint job.

Wow, those are some stunning paint schemes on those camels! LOVE those. The black really makes them pop.

I can't help myself, it is a sickness. Do they have group meets somewhere? LOL

Floss the pics you sent are somewhat the same as the ones I have, but the top wing on my three view is different....the tips and root are kinda mustard yellowy colour..the panels where the crosses are on the top wing...are OD...and the streaking on the fuselage is not diagonal, it's straight up and down...vertical...and the crosses are a little different....the streaking on the wings is also straight from LE to TE.....but they all agree the cowl is RED hmmm....so is the landing gear and wheels.
Marty..some of those schemes you sent are causing some consternation here...I may need to rethink my paint scheme Hmmmm...or build more than one model...... I have the fuse framed up, sheeted on the sides...ready for top decking, wing mounts, LG hard points and firewall.tail feathers completed, and mid wing almost completed.......man this thing is gonna be B I I I I G G G ..... firewall to end of rudder is 6 feet......horizontal stab is 3 ft wide.....here's the funny part...mid wing is 8 ounces...fuse is 10 so far, and framed up tail feathers is 5 ounces......wonder how much it's gonna weigh when it's finished????? and I wonder how I'm gonna do the streaking?? If it was lozenge, there would be no problem, but I have never seen or heard of a lozenge Dr1.......If I could find one, that would be my choice. Oh yeah Marty..I was gonna put my family coat of arms on the side of my Pup...that is until my wife found out it comprises a hammock and a can of beer :-)

LOL..............The group meets here @ Wattflyer. :D:Q:D

HELP, the group meetings here are not helping. I am just now finishing a rebuild of my M8 and Fokker DVII. Both have ailerons and took more skill to fly than I had at the time and I crashed them. Now a year later I think my skill has gained to where I can fly them. I have a Dr1 to finish, I am getting ready to cut out of foam a Bristol Bullet M1, and have the plans cut out for a Junkers D1. My wife thinks I am hopeless, I guess after 40 years she should know.

Pay her no mind De! After all, we are the one's who know best what's good for us, not them :D (well at least most of the time) ;). Begin by saying to yourself, "I'm a good person who just happens to have a sickness". :o My Buddys here at Wattflyer help me to hang on. :) I attend the meetings faithfully and I'm getting better....... :D YEAH RIGHT! I am planing on using a red, white, and blue checker board scheme on my Bristol Bullet M1. Thinking more of using the Camel with the large red design on the side.

The are 2 Moraine in the picture. The I is a built up Peter Rake model someone started and modified with ailerons. I finished the model.

The N is a JR Models made in the Czech Republic. It is foam and a real floater. Here is my build thread. http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46180

Ok here are some pics of a plastic kit in LvR's livery. The top wing is all yellow in this version, it may have been both as colour schemes were often added too and altered over time. The plastic modelling boys are good to get colour schemes off because they put a lot more research into this stuff then we ever will. They can be bothered because there is very little chance that their masterpiece will be dashed into the ground at 30Kph ;)

Steve

LVR's DRI

I like it Steve, even if it does have some RED on it. Marty

Welcome Ron!

Ron 11-02-2009 08:45 PM

Well...I started to mount wings this last weekend. I have the bottom and mid wings done, and now can make the mounts in the fuselage for them, and do the cabane struts for the top wing when it's built. I decided to have a look at the Williams Bros style vintage wheels in 1/3 size, and was shocked to see that they weigh 20 plus ounces each ::o guess I'm gonna have to make some wheels. and I guess we'll need a pair of 1/3 sized Spandaus....I'm actually really amazed at how quickly this has gone to this stage...ten days of evenings, and I'm starting on the last major piece of the build...all the little nitty things take all the time ...seems you get things framed up fast, then the little stuff takes forever. I figure once the model is framed up, it's about 25% done.

Hi, my name is Don, I am a WW1 RC airplane junky.

I think I make models of your models, lets see my Dr1 fuselage is 21 inches long so that make my model amost 1/3 scale. HAHA

The deal of a lifetime

Boys, I am going to offer the deal of a lifetime. I have in my possesion a complete 1/4 scale FOKKER DRI kit ala Nick Zoroli and a framed up 1/4 scale Fokker DRI airframe ala Nick Zoroli that I need to move out of my shop. :) These 2 (plane/kit) take a 2.0 CID gas engine or large glow motor. The airframe has been stripped(not all of it) to gain access to the airframe for repairs which I completed. The framed up airframe is too large to ship :{ but the kit can be shipped :). I also have a RYOBI 2.0CID motor converted for RC use (new, never run) available. :) BTW, I have the plans for the DRI I will throw in with the kit. I had at one time considered flying this big bird but now am only interested in smaller stuff. PM me if anyone is interested or pass this on to someone who may be interested. I will make you a deal you can't refuse. PS pics on demand. Also may be persauded to swap for some items I need/use. Marty
