My First Guess:
A Fokker Dr1 built from Nick Ziroli Plans.
Possibly in Werner Voss' color scheme.

scalercflyer 02-01-2010 11:30 AM

Project

WRONG! Guess again.................

Lets see some pictures.

K CLOSE 02-01-2010 04:57 PM

The lack of pic's is on me. I did snap some, but I used my cell phone. I spent forever last night trying to get them out and onto the net and I can't. I think I'm going to have to buy a memory card for the phone and move them about that way.
Pat did a bang up job on that Avro, he should be proud:ws:. I didn't take the sticks but it looked like a really smooth flyer.

Thats what I did. Much easier to do. My phone takes lousy pics but I can upload pics, music and even movies onto my phone now.

After he tried to fly it he thought he need you to help change the COG, did you have to change it? I am looking forward to what he wants to build next. Waiting to see if I have printed plane he can use as plans.

Central or Allied powers? Can we get hint about that?

I say an Albatros D.II painted up like Oswald Boelcke's?

Ryan Flyer 02-01-2010 09:38 PM

I have some pics to so I will see if K can help me upload them soon. K did help me with the CG and now it flys great.
K I will let you try it next time we fly :)

Ron 02-02-2010 07:55 AM

I wouldn't be shocked by that at all!!

:D:Q:D

degreen60 02-02-2010 02:01 PM

Maybe something a little differant, a Caudron.

WWI Ace 02-03-2010 12:28 AM

I'm guessing Marty will build some type of Austrian fighter. Steve

dbcisco 02-03-2010 02:11 AM

Some Turkish bird? Nah, he's to good at it to make a turkey. :D:D:D

Ryan Flyer 02-03-2010 02:21 AM

Pfaltz?

dbcisco 02-03-2010 02:23 AM

Hmmmm, he said big didn't he? A 1/4 scale Gotha ?

Biplane Murphy 02-03-2010 02:35 AM

Perhaps a full scale Eindecker.......LOL

dbcisco 02-03-2010 02:51 AM

I almost bought a 3/4 scale eindecker non-RC ultra-light back in '78.
Could kick myself now.:(

WWI Ace 02-04-2010 12:56 AM

When you say "turkey" are you referring to the Fokker D9B? I heard the "B" stood for Butterball!! Isn't a Butterball turkey pretty close to 1/4 scale? LOL!!! Steve

scalercflyer 02-04-2010 02:00 AM

A clue

Well Boys, the next project will be big , but hard to see! Marty

dbcisco 02-04-2010 02:45 AM

:DNot using clear monocote are you?

dbcisco 02-04-2010 02:52 AM

Did Turkey have Butterballs?
That would be far too hilarious and I would have to build one.

Ryan Flyer 02-04-2010 02:59 AM

something early with no real fuse? Old pusher? pre WW1?

scalercflyer 02-04-2010 04:33 AM

Another clue

Let's see how good you Guys really are! THINK!! What WWI plane was hard to see? Marty

dbcisco 02-04-2010 04:41 AM

The Rumpler/Etrich Taube was supposed to be "invisible" because of its translucent linen covering.
That was pre-WWI though (1909).

degreen60 02-04-2010 05:15 AM

Fokker DVIII. Or the Fokker Eindecker that was covered in celluloid instead of fabric.

Look what I found. Think lozenge is hard to paint, try painting these wings. Next time I have to repaint my Albatros I may just have to do this one.

dbcisco 02-04-2010 05:29 AM

I love that paisley print! :$
Looks like they recycled drapes for the covering. :D:D:D

TVCasualty 02-04-2010 07:32 AM

Neat degreen60!
