E-flite Power 52 Lipo cell range

Hi Gang,

Do any of you have experience using a 3S Lipo on an Eflite Power 52 motor? The battery range is listed at 4S to 6S... What are the pro/cons here? Am I just better off using 4S batteries in the larger motors? I haven't really used anything that puts out much more than 500Watts before, so this is new territory for me.

Thanks,

Kargo

If you operate it on too low a voltage, you will not get the power (watts) out of it without the current going up to the point you will burn out the motor.

I have a E-flite power 52 and I intend to run it on a 6s system to keep the current low, and to be able to run a smaller prop than a lower voltage would require.

I wouldn't need the full rated Watts, but I can see what you mean. If I kept within the amp limits of the motor, would it be ok. For example, 55 amps x 3S = 643 Watts, enough for my application...

Thanks for the reply. Kargo
