VECO, Midwest C/L Kits Available!

3 Attachment(s)
Some of the "Old Timers" will remember the VECO line from the 1950's and '60's. These were U-Control, Free Flight and a few R/C models, balsa kits with colorful names like Chief, Tom Tom, Apache, Warrior, Sioux and of course Bob Palmer's famous Thunderbird.
Well, some of the control-line models are being kitted again, by Larry Richards, from Sparks, Nevada;

As well as models from Midwest, several of the profile U-Control designs.
And to give our newer (younger) modelers an idea of what these planes looked like, here are photos of an ad page from the March 1958 Model Airplane News (0.35 cents per copy!) in glorious black + white.
Enjoy!

oh man I so much rememeber having a love affair with U/C and read/looked at old mags a jillion times wishing those days/model kits would reappear. long time ago I once had a conversation with "Joe Veco" thats what they called him and he told me why all those kits had indian names, cant recall but they had a reason.......many claim to rekit those old models but you can never replace the original real deal! Ive personally owned and held the old jewels in my arms and regret selling them, altho still have some veco "henry engineering" 1/2A plans from joe ...closest to the next best thing:tc:
