Do you guys have an alternate way to see your vids? I can not see them on the computer, they never open. Just on my phone, and that's too small.

Go to tools on your web browser tool bar "upper right" click "tools" then click "internet options" click "security" make sure your security level is at med to low. Sometimes if its at the high setting, it wont open links.

WWI aircraft to build
A nice job as always D! BTW, I have enough reference material in my WWI aviation library to keep you building until you check out! You'll never want for WWI planes to build. Gee come to think of it, what's next? Marty

Do you have a color photo of a Belgium Spad XI? I have BW photo and none of the color photos I have seen match the paint pattern. Here are pictures of my next bash a Spad XI. Before and fuselage started.

Here is the BW photo. You can see the paint pattern does not match. I may use several differant pictures and just paint as close to the BW pattern as I can. I only want to be close anyway.

I dont think you can go wrong with the green, tan colors...I'am sure tail fins were painted in many different ways. I also believe Belguim took what they could get, and didnt separate from the colors the plane was given to them.

Isnt that plane of the 1me Escadrille? Groupe De Chasse?
I think Ferdinand Jacquet flew that plane in your pic. |

Well scratch that....I see it's the Spad S.XI A2 Sp38 of N° 4 Escadrille d'Observation.
Here is Sp 28.. Some cool features on this pic. |
League of WWI Aviation Historians
Guys I have a large amount of journals produced by this organization in my reference library. They are precise, accurate and well witten. I recommend them highly. Has any of you heard of them before? I bought quite of few of them off of ebay. Marty

I wonder if those planes were piece mealed to the Belgiums. Your right about the wings. I read they didnt personalize their planes until after the English and french did, and even then, they didnt mark much! Good thing I wasnt flying back then, I would have a nice looking lady laying accross the cowling! "painted that is" :tc:
I guess thats not "PC" anymore..:D |
