Bomb racks are installed. I also made a new cowl. The last cowl was made in 3 pieces and taped together. I redid the graphics for the cowl into one peice with tabs to glue the cowl together. I am looking for easy way to make bombs. I think maybe drinking straw for body of bomb. Looking for something I can use as a master for my Vac-U-Form to make ends of bomb. Going to look for an ink pen cap that I can cut in half for a master. I may just sand some foam for the ends.

That is so cool!

Allright Boys, here's the latest shots of my "captured" Sopwith Pup. Notice i gave her an under wing streaked paint job with diluted WB paint. Also have installed under wing crosses that match the ones on the top. All controls and batt are installed and tested. Also added a spread bar between the wheels. I just have a few things left.
  • Rigging (need to find some black carpet thread)
  • Machine gun (thanks for sending me one Don!)
  • Crosses on the rudder (should I leave the stripes on it and add the crosses or paint it white and put the crosses on?)
  • Skull and crossbones on the wheel covers
What do you Boys think so far? Marty

Paint the rudder white and add the crosses.

If you would like some black upholstery thread PM me your address and I will mail you some. It is what I use on my planes.

My Pup can beat up your Pup.

I added the spreader bar on my Pup too. It kept breaking off when landing. I drilled small holes in the landing gear struts and the spreader bar. Used thread to bind the spreader bar to the struts and CA everything together. Have not had it break loose sence.

I don't know D! I just added a nice machine gun to mine and I'm itching to fill an allied plane full of lead! You might have just volunteered! :p> Marty

Wouldn't it be cool if Flyzone added some IR dogfighting capability?

I am not worried about your gun, I put a hex on those printed guns I sent you. Everything I send you guys I put a hex on, just ship me the broken and crashed planes.

Now I am going to have to pay extra to have the hex water proofed. I will put extra strong hex on the pilot for the Bristal Scout, I don't have one yet. I am also sending a pilot for an Eflite DVII just in case you have or get one, I need it too.

Somebody has to recycle the trash you make. I have my own rebuild now. I lost oriation on the Breguet 14 tonight. It crashed out of site over the hill. Both lower wings are ripped off and some damage in the nose. I will have to take the off cowl to see all the damage. The wings are an easy fix. If nose not too bad it will be flying again in a few days.

TM4197 10-09-2010 12:55 AM

Hope shes ok and fixable....(what Iam I saying)?? you'll have her up soon!! Take some pics....! What the heck happened?

Dummy at the controls. I lost which way the plane was flying and it was too far out and too low for me to regain control. I think it hit on the prop cause the prop is broke in 3 pieces. I took the cowl off and damage is not too bad. Motor mount broke loose. Only thing I have to make new is the cowl. Easy to do, just print another one and glue together. Nice thing about foam, clean breaks and large pieces. Ill take pictures before I start rebuild.

Here is the Breguet 14 after the crash. Only damage to top wing is were struts pulled out. Lower wing needs glued back together. Fuselage only needs wing strut and motor mount glued back into place. Landing gear will go back into place when the motor mount is fixed, then the rear landing gear legs can be glued back together.

scalercflyer 10-10-2010 12:38 AM

A mark

It is really not all that bad. I already have the motor mount fixed. Have the struts back in place and now waiting on the glue to dry where I had to glue the bottom wings back on. All that is left to do is replace the inside wing brace wires and glue the landing gear legs back together. May have it back in the air tomorrow night.

Igor, flip the switch then stand back, the storm is just right to create a large lighting bolt.

When I was a boy things were tuff. Lived in the country and I would walk the roads looking in ditches for soda bottles thrown out of cars cause they were worth 2 cents. I used that money to buy my models. I learned to repair almost any crash.

Yeah D, Boys. As a young lad I cut lawns and did odds and ends jobs to get hobby money for FF rubber models and plastic models (some cars, others planes). I has a job in high school delivering appliances for $1.15 and hour and I thought I was in the big money!:D:cool: My how things have changed! Marty
