Davis County Flying
I thought I'd start a thread to see if there are any other Davis County flyers who might be interested in flying with us. We're an informal group of flyers who mainly fly electric planes at parks. We also have a few flyers in our group who fly gassers, sometimes at the Ogden Business Depot and sometimes out on a private flying site in Hooper.
We fly full-contact combat with flying wings and also night flyers (LEDs on Slow Sticks), as well as the whole spectrum of other electrics. So if you're nearby and want to fly with us, drop us a line. |
Darth,
Welcome to Wattflyer! Wanting to help... I guess you are talking about Utah? I didnt know where you were talking about that until I read Ogden. No clue where Davis was... Its always a great idea to complete your user profile, that way folks can identify with you much easier! :) |

Oh, it is, you made no error there, but its always helpful to have the info redundantly redundant.
Now that you have info in your profile, I see where you are at right next to your posts instead of having to see where the thread was posted. Helps everyone, and thats what we are here for! (besides, now you have your 3 posts, and can post links and such!) |
hello, i need help
i am in the davis county area as well, and being a first generation flyer, and a poor teenager, i am eager to upgrade my SLO-V (my pride and joy) to brushless. Does anybody know of anyway to do this cheap?
|
Yes, you can get cheap brushless motors and ESC's from www.hobbycity.com and www.headsuprc.com
If the Slo-V is similar in weight to a Slow Stick, one of the cheapest options is a TowerPro 2410-09 brushless motor with an 18-amp brushless speed controller. You can find a link to hobbycity's combo deal with that motor and speed controller, as well as other components such as lipo batteries, here in my blog: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=965040 Also, if you ever want to meet up and fly with my group, we usually coordinate our flying on this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475775 |
Darth Elevator, thanks
Thank you for the tips. Sorry for such a long time of a reply, i have been inactive in flying r/c and been more active in my pilot lessons. Anyways, thank you for all of the tips and advice with the conversion of my Slo V

Another Davis County Utah option
Don't mean to hijack this thread, but it seems pretty dead.
I just started a Google Group for Davis and locale electric plane flyers. The address is : "https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/daviselectricflyers" |
If.you ever wanna fly in slc, hit me up.
