Hey jack7 can you take it back for a refund? If not maybe you can trade it for a trainer. I really don't know much about FMS but from what I've heard it isn't really realistic. Or maybe while your practicing on FMS you can save the money to buy a trainer. Warbirds ARE NOT GOOD FOR BEGINNERS!!! There is a place at the bottom of the Wattflyer homepage where you can buy, sell, or trade if you want to list it there. Steve.

Take it from someone who has spent, (looks to make sure girlfriend isn't looking) a couple thousand easy, trying to teach myself to fly. Take the plane back. Get yourself a HobbyZone Supercub. Buy some extra props, and maybe another battery. The cub is a nice plane, easy to fly, and looks scale in the air. As you get more experience and money, you can buy a better radio system, and add ailerons to it. You can dress the plane up with paint or markers and have a good reliable plane, no matter how experienced you get. |

speaking of money spent...
I ended up with a GP DR1 yesterday. The shop owner put it together (wrong) put it in the air once, and didn't like it. I picked the whole thing up, minus the radio (he's bringing in the charger to give me next week.) for under 130 bucks. I took apart the wings, took out the glow sized reciever (it will fit nicely in my 40 cub when I make it electric) and put everything where it belonged. I might just have to put it up a couple times this weekend. If I can bring it home in one piece, I will do some of the scale mods to it. It's really a nice little piece of history, my first WWI bird. |

My first job was working on a farm, loading hay bales, in the summer.
Fresh from the cold white north of MA, and here I was, out throwing bales of hay. What was I thinking? oh, and to stay on topic, yup, need to work on my tripe as well. I broke one of the monts for the lower wing strut being stupid last night while handling it. So much of it needs reworking. The guy who built it, is definately not an electrician! |
Took a break from sanding the cowl. Hard to get alot done on it while my 9yr. old sits beside me building a 1/72nd Albatros DVa. Oh well it's time spent together!! He is just learning to build models so he needs help frequently. At least he's interested in planes!! His older brothers could care less most of the time. Anyway made a decision guys. The rudder and the ailerons are supposed to be coupled together on the same servo. Interesting, but tough to do with fat fingers in a little fuselage!! I ordered 3 new 4.3gram servos from www.unitedhobbies.com so the rudder and ailerons each have their own servo. I know it'll weigh a little more but it will also allow more room to get things adjusted correctly. The ailerons are definitly pull pull and the rudder will probably be also. The elevator will probably end up with a pushrod: 1. 'cause I'd have to build another IDENTICAL control horn and: 2. it will be easier to run one small wire through the tiny fuselage without taking a chance of poking holes where I don't want them!! Anyway United Hobbies is selling the servos for $3.45 a piece!! They are selling some 9gram servos for $2.99 each if you guys need some servos for a project. I've had very good luck with their products so far and if there is a problem, just notify them and they'll give you a number for a US (or Canada) Rep to deal with your claim. They have outrunner motors and ESCs dirt cheap!!! Steve.

Murph's right!! My camera is dead!! They just don't build 'em tough enough to survive two teenage boys. Sorry there are no pics. Maybe by the time it's finished I'll have pics of her. I get this one done I'll either start the little Eindecker or the 35"ws Fokker tripe. More than likely the tripe since I've already bought machine gun kits and custom decals for it. I wonder where Martin is? He always has good input on things. Steve.

Well Boys, one of my best friends gave me this jet. I may temporarlly sideline some building and put it together. Seems like I need a jet to turn and burn. Back on the DRI shortly. BTW, this is an Ultrafly plane. Check out this site for more info. Martin
