WWI Ace 10-15-2005 02:16 AM

Martin. I'm going to start cutting wood tomorrow. I hope I can get it all "kitted" in one day. I'm going to try to get your foamie Fokker plans out tomorrow also.

Walt Thyng 10-15-2005 05:02 AM

I like to see those Sopwith Triplane Plans. There was a 1/3 scale version at Rhinebeck this year. It wasn't covered yet but the guy did a beautiful job.

Sopwith Tripe plans
Walt, the plans are from Flying Scale Models. They are plans that Peter Rake drew up. Check his website for more info. Model was featured in Nov 2003 issue. Martin

scalercflyer 10-16-2005 01:04 AM

watt_the?! 10-16-2005 02:04 AM

lol actually you mightve noticed that it looked hard to fly...has almost full right rudder to fly straight, and doesnt like turning left.

had to retire her due to it being so unmanageable.

ill upload the dr1 next...

turnwaldw 10-16-2005 02:44 AM

It still a very nice plane just to site on a shelf would be nice. Yes the Aussies do have nice things over there. I was over there in 85 or 86 getting old for the world roar championships it was great. I was in the military and used military hops to get there only took me three days to get there but it was great being there. I was back in 2000 for GM working on the GTO that we built from on of there cars which slips my mind right know again had a great time went to the outback seen some roos and other weird stuff they have there.

Look what I won!
Hey WWI Ace and company! I won a Ben Buckle Fokker DVIII kit on E-bay tonight! I've wanted this kit for years. Looks like I have 2 winter projects!! :D :D

WWI Ace 10-17-2005 12:54 AM

So give us more details about it!!! I'm curious!!!

Walt Thyng 10-17-2005 01:51 PM

Hi All; I'll be out of touch for about a week and then come back to a very heavy work load. The Dr.1 is ready for final fitting and finish sanding. Probably be a couple of weeks before I have any more build photos. Until then you'll have to keep guessing on the color scheme. All I'll say is that I've never seen it on a model (-:

Nobert 10-18-2005 02:35 AM

Anybody know of an Albatross kit suitable for ax AXI?

scalercflyer 10-18-2005 02:48 AM

NOBERT try Aerodrome RC for a fabulous kit of that Albatros. Kurt has a DIII and DVa available. Check his site: www.aerodromerc.com Hey Guys! it's another German fighter! Looks like Bloody April all over again for the Allies  Martin

hstew 10-18-2005 04:29 AM

Nobert 10-18-2005 05:36 AM

Scalercflyer and hstew
Thanks for the info. I particularly liked teh aerodromerc stuff.
Thanks again,
PS: Gotta finish the Balsa Products Tiger Moth first.

mikeceleskey 10-18-2005 05:57 AM

Hey I just found you guys!!!! I am currently building the Aerodromerc Halberstadt DIII. Aerodrome rocks!!!!! Also, I'm looking for plans of a "Star-strutter". Any help out there?

DennisK 10-18-2005 01:19 PM

As far as I remember there's a nice 1/6 Starstrutter plan available from Traplet by Dave Hurell.
It's for glow, but could be easily converted to e-power I imagine.
