Hi Bill :) I havent been on Wattflyers for a little while or doing any flying, I am healing from a Pinched nerve in my Back thats affecting my right leg, I am getting better, but the inflammation is a bummer and painful, Not sure about the scratch building contest, Maybe you might want to start one, ask Don Sims to help you out with it, and make a post on Wattflyers to see if anyone would be interested in doing a scratch build contest contest, Take care and have fun, Chellie

Chellie, I have a question that falls into your bailiwick. You helped me before when I reentered the hobby.

Is the forum planning on any more from-scratch building contests? I follow these pretty closely and even entered twice. Didn't win, and didn't deserve to on one and pulled out of the second, but intend to join in when a contest aligns with my interests.

I've been traveling so would have missed out on any contest discussions. Have they run their course, or perhaps got too advanced so only a few of the better builders even enter? Not being critical here, but there did not seem to be as many entrants as there could have been.

Or is there just not that much interest in designing and scratch building any more?

Appreciate any enlightenment. I'm in the process of building a Clancy Lady Bug but enlarged to a 36" span from the 21" of my first one (and the contest entry). Might share the build photos, thoughts and decisions if it works out.
