Please pardon my very late response. I changed jobs and relocated and have been extremely busy. Today I have narrowed down my battery purchases to 2 brands. One might surprise you because as an EE surprised me. When Specific Energy (Wh/kg is the most important factor I use Gens Ace. No issues with puffing, consistent internal resistance, and cycle life has been very good, I have some Gens Ace going on 3 years old still measuring 95% capacity with roughly only 2% rise in internal Resistance.

Now the surprise is Turnigy Nano-Tech. Quality is very good and consistent. I use these when Specific Power (W/kg) is priority1. I use these in my high performance 3D airplanes. Example I use a lot of 3S and 4S 2200 to 2600 mah cells. On 220 mah cells the internal resistance for the last 3 years has held 3 to 6 milli-ohms per cell. One of the few cells that actually come close to specified C-Rate. Capacity on all my cells are still at or above spec.

Hi, I am an EE with 40 years of professional experience and the same with flying RC aircraft. My assignment at work is designing avionics packages for the F-16. I read with interest your thoughts on batteries from 2014 and was wondering what batteries you have found to perform well now that we are in 2019. I typically run 3S 1200mAH packs. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
